The Day of Love
I always make shirts for the kids. The boy got a Christmas shirt with a red truck hauling a christmas tree. They get birthday shirts...except for Munchkin who I totally forgot about! Oops! But I am working on one for her. Last year I made Valentine shirts and I fear I have set a bar. Darn it! It was so hard last year to think up something manly for the boys shirt. But he still wears it which is the real test. This year, I decided we needed a theme. You know, matchy matchy.
Conversation hearts! I had to approve the saying for the boy's shirt but he asked to wear it yesterday so I figure I'm golden!
You Rock for the boy against any lovey crap.
Sweet squirt gets hugs and kisses--because really, who doesn't want to hug and kiss that little girl?

A Whole New World!
We moved!
Around the block.
Into a house without a basement apartment.
YAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!
Life is good.
Unpacking still sucks!
Buying new things for our new space.
Figuring out where all the old things go is hard.
I think I finally figured out the kitchen today...
...after rearranging it 4 times and thinking about it for 2 weeks.
Next week, we work on the garage.

So Much Sickness
And WAY too much whine to go with it.
Everyone was fine during Christmas break. Then the boy got some random thing and missed his first day back to school. He managed to go every other day but came home and promptly fell asleep on the couch, slept all night and went to school the next day.
Then, Squirt got sick on Monday afternoon. General whinyness, and a small cough. After 4 days of her not getting any better, we went to the trusty doctor. CROUP! Now, if you haven't had any experience with this illness, let me tell ya---it's fun for the whole family! Especially with a thumb sucker! Coughing, wheezing, congestion, and no magic drug to make it all better. The doctor did prescribe her something to help loosen everything up. She hated it. So much that she wouldn't take her yummy ibuprofen without a lot of coaxing.
Thumbelina was hit next. She went to bed early on Friday, and stayed in bed ALL DAY on Saturday. Now this girl is the epitome of 'misery loves company' so it was totally unreal that she stayed in her bed. She moaned and whimpered most of Sunday and Monday...much to everyone's enjoyment.
Munchkin came down with a sympathetic virus. Varying syptoms of legs hurting, not being able to walk, coughing, and a genuine fever for a day or two.
Hubby went to bed last night at 8pm feeling a little sick. But being the man he is, he is just fine this morning.
I am taking my lysine and xplague everyday in the (likely dim) hope that I will get passed over. I think we are at the tail end of it all. Now if the kids would just sleep through the night, maybe I could find the energy to unpack the rest of the kitchen boxes so I can tackle the garage and maybe park my car in there this year.

Look Who's Four!
Munchkin turned 4 this week! We can't believe she's only 4! It seems like she's been here forever! She is super into Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, thanks to her cousins in Washington. She got the Handy Manny Talking Toolbox for Christmas and plays with it ALL THE TIME!
So while we were still moving in this weekend, we celebrated this girl's birthday with a Mickey Mouse cake,
The same sword that she gave her friend for his birthday last week,
