Getting Settled In

We moved a while ago. Like 2 months. I think I am almost done with how I want the upstairs to look.
I love new stuff...and when a project turns out the way you hope. Scrabble art for the wall. It stands out more in real life.
Pictures, new couch, giant TV--that one was the husband's idea.

Some vinyl for the dining room wall with enough cork board picture frames for lots of artwork--mostly Munchkin's.
Now I just need to work on the downstairs! Oh yeah and the giant catch-all that is my bedroom!

Parenting

I took the kids to Roberts this morning looking for things I needed for a project I was doing. When we checked out, the lady, of course, offered the girls balloons. She tied them on their wrists and continued with taking my money. I told Squirt to leave hers on her wrist. She took it off. I told her to hold on tight or it would float away and be all gone. While she was playing in a basket of eggs by the register, she let go of her balloon. It floated up to the ceiling, out of reach. She immediately started freaking out. "Balloon! Balloon," she cried. I told her that she let go of it and it was gone. I reminded her that she took it off her wrist. Basically I lugged her out of the store screaming. While I was buckling her in, the lady in line behind me came up to me and said, "I admire your parenting." Then she was gone.

So either I am doing something right by letting my children learn consequences, or that lady was crazy.

Eight Really is Great!

We had the boy's baptism on Saturday. He was so excited and just a little bit nervous. On the ride there, he kept asking his Dad to hold him under the water longer.

I made a baptism subway art for the Primary Baptism Fireside we had. So I used that at the baptism. We also took a picture of the boy and had people sign the mat. Now I just have to put his baptism picture in it and we can hang it.

A couple of his friends from school came--which was way cool for him.

Hubby did it backwards the first time so the boy got dunked twice.
The boy went with hubby to the baptism of a guy hubby works with, so this guy wanted to come to the boy's baptism. My family came, including my uncle and a few cousins that we haven't seen in a long time. In fact, my uncle was the only family member that helped bless the boy when he was a baby. We'll have to have him help again when the boys gets the priesthood.

It was a great day and we had so many friends there to help us celebrate this day with the coolest boy ever!
